Edwin Steenvoorden is Business Domain Leader for the Capgemini Business Information Management (BIM) Sector in The Netherlands. In this role, Edwin is responsible for managing the commercial and portfolio aspects of Information Strategy, Business Analytics and Advanced Planning & Scheduling with a team of several Lead Consultants. He is also part of the Global Leadership where it concerns Business Analytics and Big Data Analytics.
After graduating in economics, Edwin has held several positions in the ICT sector. Starting his career on the technical side as a programmer, systems analyst, and in support functions, he switched to commercial activities when he joined Capgemini in 1992. Since 1998, Edwin has specialized in the insurance and pensions market. As a subject matter expert, he has been actively involved in both projects and business development, focusing on pensions, communications, package implementations and more recently Information Strategy and Business Analytics.
In the years 1992 - 2010, Edwin has served as Head of Insurance & Pensions for Capgemini in the Netherlands and Global Leader for the Center of Excellence Insurance. He was a regular presenter at seminars and a frequent contributor to insurance publications. As a member of the steering committee for Capgemini’s World Insurance Report, he brought his global perspective to this annual look at the insurance industry.
Combining Subject Matter expertise with Business Information Management Edwin is leading initiatives in the field of e.g. Digital Transformation for Utilities and Fraud (Public and Insurance sector)
Edwin was born in 1963 in Amsterdam and graduated with a degree in Commercial Economics from the HEAO of Amsterdam. He currently resides in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.
